GRID-ALWA

what is

GRID-ALWA?

The cladding of GRID-ALWA (80-800) type gives the possibility of changing the applied technologies of ceiling or wall strutting, and its innovative application makes it possible to reduce the costs. It is easy to apply and it increases the safety of conducted works. It is intended for underground sites mining hard coal, in the mines of copper, zinc or lead ore, for the protection of embankments, slopes and excavations, and also in construction industry.

The cladding is made from long polyester fibres with huge elasticity and strength coefficient, which are anti-static and non-flammable material. Moreover, this product is resistant to bases, acids and other chemical substances. It is light (1kg per 1m2), corrosion-resistant (extended product life) and it is characterised by huge tensile strength.

Vertical and transverse section points of polyester fibres form a net consisting of even squares and strong nodes, which enables the full use of their mechanical properties. The application of innovative technology shall to a large degree facilitate the performance of strutting in longwall excavations, it will enable the easy fitting of the cladding to the excavation profile, thus increasing safety of executed works. This product has a simple structure and it is safe to use.

GRID-ALWA

APPLICATION

The innovative cladding of GRID-ALWA type (80-800) can be used in mining excavations in the mines of hard coal, copper, zinc or lead ore, for the protection of embankments, slopes and excavations, and also in construction industry. If the cladding is used in mining excavations, a detailed concept of its use shall be developed, depending on mining and geological conditions. The cladding can be used in mining excavations in the area of methane and non-methane fields, in the excavations classified as A and B class of coal dust explosion hazard, in the case of presence of water hazard, as well as in the case of strata with self-igniting properties.

The cladding can be used as an alternative for the traditional method (such as steel mesh, bentonites, steel sheets, etc.) used for strutting the ceiling and the walls:

  • As the strutting of the support, bolted and mixed lining with mechanical plating
  • As the strutting for the support lining using the bags filled with chemical bond, constructed behind the lining frame and the rock mass,
  • As the strutting of the support, bolted and mixed lining with gangue plating
  • As the strutting of the ceiling and the walls of transport fields in the case of liquidation of wall fittings
  • As the protection in the case of corrosion of steel strutting in mining excavations – at short and long sections of such excavations
  • For fast reconstruction and reinforcement of large surfaces of degraded excavations
  • For ceiling protection in exploitation fields using collapse and hydraulic backfill
  • In backfill dams in combination with traditional backfill canvas, depending on the type of supplied backfill mixture, and also for the protection of fencing
  • For strutting highly resistant gangue, in the case of which no final lining has been used
  • As temporary lining during the excavation of shafts
  • As the strutting of the thill in the case of thick strata, exploited in layers with the view to protecting the future ceiling in the next mined wall area
  • As insulation of goafs using shotcrete
